The National Training Workshop on “Biowaste Management” in Manila, the Philippines, is starting today, 5th of June 2018.

The Workshop is implemented in the framework of the wider project “EU CBRN CoE Project 46”, which is intended to improve the capacity of South-East Asia to address CBRN risk mitigation. The training on “Biowaste Mangement” implemented in the framework of Project 46 involves six countries: Brunei Darussalam, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Viet Nam, the Philippines and Cambodia.

The participants, which are both laboratory workers and biowaste managers, will have the opportunity to improve their skills and knowledge regarding the biowaste management process. The Workshop will have a particular focus on waste segregation, packaging and disposal, along with an analysis of national guidelines and best practices.

The two trainers, Dr. Philippe Stroot and Prof Philippe Le Coustumer, will hold lectures and practical exercises in order to enhance participants abilities and raise their awareness on the topic of biowaste management.
