The National Training Workshop on “Biowaste Management” has officially started today, 28th of May 2018, in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam.
The Workshop represents a great opportunity for all the participants to deepen their knowledge on the procedures concerning biowaste handling, management and disposal, and raise their awareness on the major risks resulting from this process. The group of participants includes both laboratory staff and workers in charge of the transport and disposal of biowaste, together with national authorities responsible for regulations on the topic.
The Workshop lasts four days and is led by Dr. Philippe Stroot and Prof. Philippe Le Coustumer, who are experts in the field of biosafety, biosecurity and biowaste management.
The National Training Workshop is one of a series of National Training Workshops implemented in six different countries: Brunei Darussalam, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Viet Nam, the Philippines and Cambodia. These events are organized in the framework of the bigger project “EU CoE-Project 46”, which has the purpose of enhancing the CBRN capacities of South-East Asia in addressing CBRN risks mitigation.
