MILAN 20-21 November 2015 - From the synergy between ACISMOM Military Corps and Institute of Molecular Sciences and Technologies, National Research Centre - CNR, the conference "ChemBioHaza Milano 2015" addressed the issue of CBRN emerging threats

The two days conference, organized by Dr. Matteo Guidotti, Key Expert in our project team, was attended by about 100 Italian and international participants and addressed the issue of emerging threats of Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN). The event, held in Milan on 20 and 21 November, at the conference hall of the CNR, has reviewed, with a multidisciplinary approach, the experiences and views from the world of scientific research, rescue services, industry, health and military operations in the field of protection, detection, decontamination and, in general, the defense from non-conventional threats.

The conference touched on issues that in the last few days have jumped to the attention of the general public, following the recent tragic events in international news. Among those, particular attention was paid to new technologies, available at the research level, but already potentially applicable to CBRN defense; analysis of protocols and guidelines for emergency measures in the maxi-emergencies; ethical aspects and dual-use issues of science and technology; and the prospects and potential for collaboration between national actors active in the field of CBRN.
